Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein Opens Asian Karate Championships

Al-Taj News – His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, on Tuesday opened the 24th Asian Karate Championships for Youth, Juniors and Under-21 athletes, hosted at the Arena Hall in Al Hussein Youth City.

The opening ceremony was attended by Their Highnesses Prince Abdullah bin Faisal and Prince Mohammed bin Faisal. The championship features the participation of 338 male and female athletes representing 30 countries, competing over four days.

Minister of Youth and Chairman of the championship’s Higher Organizing Committee, Raed Al Adwan, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that all national institutions are keen to provide the necessary capabilities to ensure the success of the championship and present Jordan in the sporting image it deserves.

For his part, President of the Jordan Karate Federation, Hassan Masoud, welcomed the participating delegations, stressing that Amman’s hosting of the championship reflects the role of sport in bringing peoples together and enhances Jordan’s position as a home of security and stability.

Meanwhile, President of the Asian Karate Federation, Major General Nasser Al Razouqi, praised the organizational efforts and facilities provided by Jordan to host the championship, commending the commitment to delivering an outstanding continental event.

The opening ceremony included folkloric and traditional performances, along with artistic shows that added a festive atmosphere to the launch of the championship.
