Al-Taj News – The Cabinet, during its session held Sunday, decided to approve the necessary procedures to implement a project to improve energy efficiency in government buildings, in accordance with the findings of the energy audit study prepared for this purpose.
The decision comes amid the government’s continued implementation of the necessary measures to achieve energy supply security and implement the national plan to rationalize energy consumption, which is primarily aimed at reducing costs across various sectors.
The implementation of energy efficiency improvement measures in government buildings is expected to contribute to saving approximately 20% of the energy bill, according to the findings of the study. The project will begin with a group of ministries starting next year, before being expanded to the remaining ministries and government institutions.
