Zelenskyy: Kyiv Ready to Halt Airstrikes on Moscow

Al-Taj News – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday that Kyiv is ready to halt airstrikes on the Russian capital, Moscow.

Zelenskyy explained that he spoke with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who had already begun their talks in Russia on Saturday.

The US envoys are expected to arrive in Kyiv on Sunday.

Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to halt airstrikes on Moscow from now on, as well as on Sunday and Monday. He also expressed his expectation that Russia would reciprocate with regard to Kyiv.

Zelenskyy said via Telegram: “I have just spoken with the US president’s envoys.. From the moment this conversation took place, we are ready to halt airstrikes on cities where negotiations are being held.”

The Kremlin had revealed Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered that strikes on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, be suspended for three days starting at midnight.

The Kremlin explained that the suspension of strikes on Kyiv was due to preparations for and the conduct of contacts between the US negotiators there.
