Al-Bdour: 8 Specialized Clinics Relocated to Former Emergency Department Site at Prince Hamzah Hospital

Al-Taj News – Minister of Health Ibrahim Al-Bdour said on Thursday that the ministry had relocated 8 specialized clinics to the former site of the emergency department at Prince Hamzah Hospital after rehabilitating and equipping it, following the transfer of ambulance and emergency services to the Amman Field Hospital.

Al-Bdour added that the new site has been equipped with 4 pharmacy windows, a records and accounting unit, a radiology unit, a computed tomography scanner, in addition to a laboratory, allowing visitors to complete procedures and obtain diagnostic services and medications at a single location.

The relocated clinics include general surgery, neurosurgery and spinal surgery, vascular surgery, fractures, orthopedic surgery, thoracic surgery, pediatric orthopedics, and vascular medicine.

He explained that relocating the clinics and establishing pharmacy windows at the new site aims to reduce overcrowding in the outpatient clinic departments, improve patient flow and reduce waiting times, in addition to speeding up patient examinations and the completion of medical procedures, and easing pressure on the main pharmacy in the outpatient clinic building.

Al-Bdour said that rehabilitating the former emergency department site and repurposing it to serve specialized clinics came under the directives of Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, with the aim of making use of healthcare facilities and developing the services provided to visitors.

He added that the step comes as part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to reorganize services and make use of space and infrastructure in government hospitals, in a way that meets visitors’ needs and improves the healthcare service delivery environment.
