Al-Majali: Iran Is Directly Targeting Jordan and Wants to Turn It into a Tool of Pressure to End the War

Al-Taj News – Member of the Senate Hussein Al-Majali said on Wednesday that Iran’s continued hostile policy toward Jordan and the Gulf states, despite assurances that Jordan is not a party to any war and supports a peaceful solution and a return to negotiations, is surprising.

Al-Majali added that “Iran wants to drag as many countries in the region as possible into the war, in order to use these countries as a tool of pressure on the United States to end this war.”

He noted that Iran “is not like our countries,” pointing out that citizens in Arab countries, particularly the Gulf states, “are highly valued,” and that the injury of any person in Jordan or any Arab country, especially the Gulf states, leads to widespread action. Meanwhile, he said, the handling of large numbers of casualties in Iran takes place as if nothing had happened.

Regarding the missiles and drones that reach Jordanian territory, Al-Majali said they “are not heading to the occupying state,” stressing that Jordanian radars track them “from the moment of launch until the moment just before they hit the ground.”

He explained that the missile’s trajectory is clear, and its path and point of impact can be determined within a precise range. Therefore, according to Al-Majali, “it cannot be claimed that if it is heading to Israel or to a specific side or a specific target, it comes to Jordan.”

Al-Majali stressed that “Jordan’s duty, represented by the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army, is to protect the territory and protect the citizens,” emphasizing that this is “its duty and it will never deviate from it.”

He noted that the military operations that took place at the beginning of the Iran war resulted in the elimination of a large number of Iranian leaders, considering that there is currently no political figure capable of managing the various files.

Al-Majali added that Jordan’s composition differs from that of the Gulf states, and that Iran has different interests toward the Kingdom, which shares borders with Palestine and the Israeli occupation.

He explained that Iran is trying to play on the chord of supporting any military effort against the occupying state and to present itself as the party confronting Israel, with the aim of exploiting this position. He pointed out that it had tried for long periods to use a number of its proxies to threaten Jordan and carry out acts of sabotage inside the Kingdom.

Al-Majali said that these attempts failed, stressing that Iran directly targeted Jordan during the past months, after having indirectly targeted the Kingdom for years through its proxies in the region.

He said that Iran hopes the peoples of the region will support it, but that this will not happen because its intentions are clear and well known.

The crises that Jordan has gone through shake mountains, but it remained steadfast and proud, and we possess unique elements of strength, and we will not allow the very few to divide us.
