Rain Showers Expected Saturday Night and Sunday in Northern and Central Jordan in an Unusual Weather Pattern

Jordan is expected to be affected on Saturday night into Sunday by a relatively cool air mass, accompanied by a weak atmospheric instability and rain showers in the far north and central parts of the Kingdom, Director of the Jordan Meteorological Department Raed Al Khattab said.

Al Khattab said the expected weather conditions will extend to the western central region and parts of the central region, noting that this weather pattern is “unusual and infrequent” amid climate change.

He explained that rain showers are expected during the late hours of Saturday night and Sunday morning, coinciding with a drop in temperatures to around 3 to 5 degrees Celsius below their seasonal averages.

He added that the chances of rain showers will expand on Sunday to include the western central region and parts of the central region, with a very low possibility of rain showers affecting western areas of the capital, Amman.

He also noted a chance of light rain showers in parts of the northern and western central regions during the early morning hours.

Westerly winds will be moderate in speed, becoming active at times and occasionally stirring up dust, particularly in the Badia areas.
