Trump: War with Iran Will End “Very Soon” and Energy Prices Will Fall

Al-Taj News – U.S. President Donald Trump said that the war with Iran will end “very soon,” threatening Tehran with a “harsh lesson” and affirming that Washington’s patience with it has run out.

Trump added that the Iranians are living in a state of anticipation, stressing that Iran will not possess a nuclear weapon and that energy prices will fall sharply once the war ends.

Trump criticized the administration of former U.S. President Barack Obama, saying that it provided billions of dollars to Iran and that it should have prevented it from developing a nuclear weapon.

Trump had previously stated that the United States would make a decision regarding Iran “very soon,” describing it as a “failed state” and considering that it has no economy and does not pay its soldiers’ salaries.

Trump’s statements come at a time when the war between the United States and Iran is entering its eighth month, amid disagreements over the nuclear program and the conditions for ending the confrontation. Washington is demanding that Tehran reduce its uranium enrichment capabilities, while the two sides have not reached an agreement to end the war.

Negotiations have stalled despite the exchange of proposals over the past weeks, alongside efforts aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which constitutes a vital passage for global energy supplies, following the collapse of an initial agreement to cease fighting in June.
