Syria Responds to “Claims” That It Has Joined the War in Yemen

Al-Taj News – The External Media Department at the Syrian Ministry of Information responded to what it described as “claims that Syria has joined the war in Yemen.”

It said, according to the official Syrian News Channel, that “Syria’s position is clear; we stand firmly alongside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting the threats targeting its security and stability.”

It added: “At the same time, Syria’s policy in the region is based on stability, peace, and cooperation, not on opening new fronts.”

It continued: “Our absolute priority is Syria through rebuilding the country, strengthening its institutions, working with our partners on reconstruction efforts, and improving the standard of living of Syrian citizens.”
