Axios: Trump Ready to Ease Sanctions on Iran in Exchange for Progress on the Nuclear Issue

Al-Taj News – A U.S. official told Axios on Monday that U.S. President Donald Trump is prepared to grant Iran sanctions relief and release frozen Iranian funds in exchange for tangible progress on the nuclear issue.

This comes as mediators intensify efforts to revive negotiations between Washington and Tehran, amid disagreements over the nuclear program, U.S. sanctions, and the status of the Strait of Hormuz.

An informed official said mediators are expected to hold separate talks with the United States and Iran on Monday or Tuesday, while Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Qatari mediators remain in the United States.

The official added that the talks are expected to focus on a revised version of the seven-day proposal presented by Iran on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
