Al-Taj News – U.S. President Donald Trump denied on Monday that he had offered his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to purchase U.S. weapons and military equipment, dismissing recent remarks by Washington’s ambassador to Beijing, David Perdue. He stressed that the matter had not been raised for direct discussion, although he sarcastically indicated that purchasing advanced U.S. military technology might be a good option for them.
In another security-related development from the White House, Trump expressed his surprise and strong criticism of the British police’s decision to release five men suspected of planning a terrorist attack targeting a military base in England used by U.S. forces.
The U.S. president affirmed that Washington has complete information about those targeted, stressing that his administration would not have decided to grant conditional release to these suspects under any security circumstances.
