Al-Taj News – US President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States transported record amounts of oil through the Strait of Hormuz overnight, stressing that the volumes transported exceeded what had been passing through the strait before the outbreak of the war.
Trump explained that oil transportation through the strategic strait, which Iran announced it had imposed a blockade on, reached record levels, noting that the amount of oil transported overnight exceeded what had been transported before the war.
In a related context, the US president pointed to a decline in gasoline prices in the country compared with the levels recorded during the tenure of former President Joe Biden, according to his assessment.
Trump’s remarks came after he rejected an Iranian proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz if the United States lifted its naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports.
