Olive Press Owners’ Association President Calls for a Halt to Olive Picking for Now

Al-Taj News – Taysir Al-Najdawi, president of the Jordanian Association of Olive Press and Olive Oil Owners, called on farmers to immediately stop harvesting olives and postpone picking for more than two weeks, allowing the fruit to complete its ripening process and begin changing color, which would help improve oil quality and increase production quantities.

Al-Najdawi stressed that olive oil is a strategic national product, requiring joint efforts by farmers and olive press owners to preserve it and ensure production quality in a way that serves the agricultural sector and the national economy.

He also emphasized the need to respond to this call and comply with the suspension of harvesting during the specified period, in order to preserve the quality of Jordanian olive oil and its standing.
