Al-Taj News – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources issued a tender late last week inviting the resubmission of bids for a technical services project aimed at improving storage capacity for oil and petroleum products in Jordan.
The tender aims to assess current storage capabilities, identify future needs, and develop a strategy for expanding storage facilities in a way that enhances their efficiency and complies with international best practices and standards.
The project seeks to determine available storage capacity and assess its suitability for future needs, explore strategic and commercial opportunities to develop oil and petroleum products storage facilities, and ultimately establish an optimal expansion strategy based on technical and economic studies and a comprehensive assessment of existing infrastructure.
According to the scope of work specified in the tender, the project’s findings are expected to provide a technical basis for identifying future storage requirements and evaluating expansion options and related investment opportunities. This would support long-term planning for the oil and petroleum products storage sector in the Kingdom. However, the announcement did not specify a target for the increase in storage capacity or an expected cost for the expansion.
According to the ministry’s announcement, the tender is aimed at qualified local and international companies specializing in technical and consulting services related to improving the efficiency and storage capacity of oil and petroleum products facilities.
