Al-Taj News – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that the stock of petroleum products in the Kingdom, including 90- and 95-octane gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and jet fuel, is sufficient for around 60 days.
The ministry added that the sufficiency of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage capacity stands at around 38 days.
The ministry had previously affirmed that Jordan’s energy sector operates according to well-studied plans that ensure continuity of supply.
The government has worked to provide storage capacity to maintain a strategic stock of petroleum products, with the aim of enhancing the security of petroleum product supplies and ensuring continuity of supply in emergencies.
Last August, Jordan began steps to reassess its storage capacities for oil and petroleum products through a government tender aimed at developing a new strategy to expand storage facilities and enhance the Kingdom’s readiness to address supply challenges, in addition to studying investment and regional trade opportunities related to the sector.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources issued a tender to provide specialized technical services to improve the Kingdom’s oil and petroleum product storage capabilities.
According to the tender document, the project aims to assess the current storage capacities in Jordan, identify future needs, and explore strategic and commercial opportunities, ultimately preparing an integrated strategy to expand oil and petroleum product storage facilities in accordance with international best practices.
