31 Awards .. Taylor Swift Becomes the Most Decorated Artist in MTV History

Al-Taj News – Taylor Swift broke the record in the history of the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, becoming the most-awarded artist in the history of the ceremony, with 31 awards.

Swift received Sunday evening the first-ever award of its kind, named the “Artist Director Honors,” bringing her total to 31 awards after she had shared the record with Beyoncé, with 30 awards each.

The new award honors artists whose work behind the camera has expanded the possibilities of music videos and developed the art of visual storytelling.

In a speech as she accepted the award, Swift said she began making and participating in music videos 20 years ago, explaining that she has been involved in making around 60 videos, 18 of which she wrote and directed.

Addressing her audience, she added: “You are the audience .. the ones who make this experience so much fun.”
