Al-Taj News – The Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that Tehran had summoned the British ambassador to Iran over “accusations” linking the Islamic Republic to what is suspected to be a plot against Fairford Air Base in Britain.
This move comes after British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Monday that it was “highly likely” that what is suspected to have been a plot targeting Fairford Air Base was coordinated in Iran. Tehran denied any connection to the matter.
The ministry said that its Director General for Western Europe Affairs informed the ambassador that “the British government must, as soon as possible, provide the documents and evidence supporting its accusations against Iran regarding the alleged incident. Otherwise, the Islamic Republic of Iran will seriously reconsider bilateral relations.”
