Al-Taj News – U.S. President Donald Trump denied on Monday that he had offered Iran sanctions relief and the release of frozen funds.
Trump said via Truth Social that the “Axios” website published a report “claiming that he offered Iran sanctions relief and the release of frozen funds. This is not true.”
He added that the report, “like most of the other reports, is pure fabrication, and is used only to satisfy their pathological obsession with attacking me, what is known as ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’ They must withdraw this false story immediately.”
Axios had reported, citing a U.S. official on Monday, that Trump was prepared to grant Iran sanctions relief and release frozen Iranian funds in exchange for tangible progress on the nuclear issue.
This comes as mediators intensify efforts to revive negotiations between Washington and Tehran, amid disagreements over the nuclear program, U.S. sanctions, and the status of the Strait of Hormuz.
