Al-Taj News – Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez said Sunday that the repeated Israeli incursions and violations in the West Bank and Holy Jerusalem constitute a source of concern for Jordan, noting that Jerusalem represents a Hashemite legacy and holds an important status for the Kingdom.
Al-Fayez added that what he described as the Israeli settlement plan known as “E1” aims to fragment the West Bank and separate Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank, thereby hindering the movement of Palestinians between Palestinian cities.
He warned that the greatest threat lies in displacement, stressing that His Majesty King Abdullah II has been clear in his position on this issue, and that “displacement is a red line.”
Al-Fayez said that, if war were imposed on Jordan, Jordan would fight to defend its homeland and would not allow displacement, pointing out that His Majesty the King had been clear that Jordan would close its borders, and that “if Israel attempts to attack Jordan, then we will deal with each incident accordingly.”
