Axios: Pentagon Orders Completion of Preparations to Resume Major Combat Operations in Iran

Al-Taj News – The Pentagon instructed the U.S. Central Command a few days ago to complete preparations for resuming large-scale combat operations against Iran, according to what Axios reported Wednesday, citing U.S. officials.

The site explained that the directive did not include a specific date for launching the strikes, and that U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision, but U.S. and Israeli sources believe this could happen before the U.S. midterm elections, and perhaps before the Israeli elections that precede them by one week.

The sources said that if major combat operations resume, they are expected to include intensive bombing of Iranian targets related to the energy sector, infrastructure, and the nuclear program.

A Pentagon official explained that the mission of the U.S. War Department is to prepare and present military options to the president, while a White House official said that all options are available to Trump at any time.
