Rain Raises Traffic Density.. Traffic Department Warns Drivers

Al-Taj News – Captain Mohammad Al-Droubi from the Traffic Department said on Tuesday that the onset of rainfall requires drivers to exercise caution and vigilance, especially with the presence of remnants from the summer season, such as dust and oil on the roads, which may increase the likelihood of vehicles skidding.

Al-Droubi added that the Traffic Department emphasizes, with the beginning of the winter season, the need to ensure the readiness and roadworthiness of vehicles while traveling, and to take into account weather conditions and road conditions, particularly during the early morning and late evening hours.

He pointed to an accident on Airport Road, after Zain Al-Sharaf Bridge toward Al-Multaqa, following the overturning of one of the buses, which resulted in the death of one person and injuries to 40 others, in addition to one serious injury.

He explained that Civil Defense teams and Traffic Department personnel dealt with the accident within their areas of responsibility from the moment it occurred, stressing the importance of not obstructing vehicles stopped at accident sites from carrying out the work of the relevant authorities.

He said that the stopping of some vehicles at accident sites obstructs the arrival of Civil Defense, ambulance, security agencies, and Traffic Department personnel to the accident site and their ability to deal with it with the required speed.

Al-Droubi stressed the importance of complying with traffic rules and priorities, driving the vehicle within the prescribed speed and in accordance with road conditions and weather conditions, in addition to leaving a sufficient safety distance, allowing the driver to avoid any emergency, control the vehicle, and reach their destination safely.
