From the UN Podium, Iranian President Sends Messages to the US and Israel

Al-Taj News – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a speech before the United Nations General Assembly that Iran will not surrender to military force, stressing that his country believes in diplomacy.

Pezeshkian warned against expanding the scope of the war in the region, considering that this “will not achieve security” and that peace in Iran “will not come from the battlefield.”

Pezeshkian accused the United States of obstructing Iran’s access to waterways, saying that his country will not allow them to be used to launch attacks against it, and also accused Washington of failing to respect international laws.

He added that his country, which the United States and Israel waged a war against this year, is a “victim of terrorism,” rejecting US President Donald Trump’s accusation that Tehran is involved in “terrorism.”

The Iranian president said in his speech: “The President of the United States described us as terrorists. We are victims of terrorism. Yes, I come from Iran, where our Supreme Leader was assassinated without any justification or legal framework. I come from Iran, where they bombed a school” at the beginning of the latest war.

Regarding the nuclear program, Pezeshkian affirmed that his country “needs nuclear energy, not a nuclear bomb,” reiterating Tehran’s stated position on the purpose of its program.

On another front, Pezeshkian announced his country’s readiness to negotiate, stressing that talks should take place away from the use of the language of force.

He said that “Iran extends its hand to the world,” referring to Tehran’s readiness for dialogue.

Regarding Israel, Pezeshkian said: “Israel kills and Tehran is subjected to sanctions. This is a double standard.”
