Al-Taj News – Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Industry Fathi Al-Jaghbir said Saturday that industrial sector indicators point to an increase in the number of factories, expansion of industrial facilities, and growth in exports and the market share of Jordanian products, considering that these indicators reflect the impact of the approach adopted by the chamber in addressing sector-related issues over the past years.
Al-Jaghbir added that the share of Jordanian products in the local market has increased in several sectors, noting that the share of the chemical industries and cleaning materials sector currently stands at around 80%, compared with less than 35% years ago, while the share of the food sector has exceeded 65%.
He explained that the Amman Chamber of Industry has, over the past years, been keen to convey the concerns of the industrial sector honestly and clearly to decision-makers at the highest levels, in addition to adopting a participatory approach in dealing with the government and relevant authorities.
He pointed out that unity and consensus among members of the chamber’s board, continuous communication with the general assembly and the industrial sector, and joint work with the government contributed to achieving what he described as the success seen in the chamber’s elections, stressing that this result represents a responsibility and an incentive to continue working and exert further efforts to serve the industrial sector.
