Jordanian Economy Records 3% Growth in the Second Quarter

Al-Taj News – Estimates by the Department of Statistics for quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) for the second quarter of 2026 showed that real GDP at constant prices grew by 3%, compared with 2.8% during the second quarter of 2025.

This growth came despite the circumstances of the war and its repercussions in the region. The recorded growth rate is considered the highest in years, amid the exceptional circumstances witnessed by the region and the world.

According to the Department of Statistics, the growth rate was higher than the expectations of international financing institutions for the Jordanian economy during this period, thanks to government economic policies, incentives, and positive decisions that were reflected in various indicators and contributed to achieving a higher-than-expected growth rate.

The agriculture, manufacturing, and electricity sectors were among the key productive sectors driving economic growth, with the agriculture sector recording the highest growth rate at 7.8%, followed by the manufacturing sector at 6.2%, and the electricity supply sector at 5%.

The agriculture sector recorded the highest growth rate during this period at 7.8%, followed by the manufacturing sector at 6.2%, then the electricity supply sector at 5%, followed by the water supply sector, which recorded a growth rate of 4.1%.
