Prince Hassan bin Talal said that the issue of Jerusalem has not yet been resolved, stressing that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are occupied territories and not “disputed areas.”

Prince Hassan added, in statements to “Sky News,” monitored and translated by “Al-Taj News,” that the presence of an Israeli mission in Jordan has not been reflected in the level of communication between the two sides, pointing out that the exchange of ideas between the two parties is “almost nonexistent.”

He explained that European and Western countries have begun taking positions regarding the issue of Israeli settlement, which he described as “the most prominent real obstacle” at the present time.

Regarding Jordanian affairs, Prince Hassan said that Jordan is always in the “line of fire” because of its geographical location, noting that it is surrounded by “friendly or hostile” countries, including parties in the peace process.

He stressed that the penetration of missiles and drones into Jordanian airspace does not represent merely a security concern, but rather a “direct infringement on sovereignty,” stressing that Jordan refuses to be a theater for conflicts and settling scores taking place elsewhere.

Prince Hassan touched on the repercussions of regional conflicts on the peoples of the region, saying that the region is being dealt with as though its importance is confined to what lies beneath its ground, while its people are becoming “mere numbers stripped of their humanity.”

He pointed out that the Levant, along with Egypt, Turkey, and Iran, has more than 400 million people, warning that regional escalation threatens everyone.
