Al-Taj News – The Saudi national team won the Arabian Gulf Cup “Gulf 27” title after defeating the UAE national team 2-0 in the final match held Tuesday evening at Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, before a crowd of 62,827 spectators.
The Green imposed its superiority early, as Humam Al-Hamami opened the scoring in the 11th minute, before Firas Al-Buraikan doubled the lead just two minutes later with a low shot that settled to the right of goalkeeper Khalid Eisa.
With this victory, Saudi Arabia reclaimed the Gulf Cup title, which had been absent from its trophy cabinet since 2004, bringing its tally to four titles, while the UAE failed to secure its fourth title, having last won the championship at “Gulf 21” in Bahrain in 2013.
