Al-Taj News – Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Council Rashad Al-Alimi announced the launch of the comprehensive military and security operation “Dawn of Yemen,” which aims to “end the Houthi coup” in the capital Sana’a and restore state institutions.
Al-Alimi said in a post on “X”: “By the grace of God, the ‘Dawn of Yemen’ operation has been launched to restore state institutions, liberate the capital Sana’a, and end the coup of the terrorist Houthi militia. With God’s help, the will of our people, the bravery of our armed forces and all military formations, and with the support of our brothers and friends, Yemen will move toward a new dawn of freedom, peace, and stability.”
A Yemeni government military source had told the German Press Agency (dpa) on Monday that Yemeni government forces had recaptured areas near Bab al-Mandab and were close to cutting off Houthi supplies to Dhubab, with intensive air support.
The source said that units from the Giants Brigades and the Nation’s Shield Forces, supported by tribal fighters, entered Dhubab Airport and the New Victory Road after carrying out a maneuver from behind Al-Saqiya village, which resulted in separating the Houthi forces in Bab al-Mandab from their forces in Dhubab.
He added that the joint forces cut the road linking Al-Saqiya and Al-Omari Camp, resulting in the encirclement of Houthi elements in the Bab al-Mandab sector and Mayyun Island.
