UAE and Qatar Advance to the Gulf Cup Semifinals

Al-Taj News – The United Arab Emirates and Qatar secured their places in the semifinals of the Gulf Football Cup “Gulf 27” after defeating Bahrain 3-0 and Yemen 1-0, respectively, on Sunday in the second round of the group stage.

The UAE raised its tally to six points at the top of Group B, ahead of Qatar on goal difference, before the two sides meet in the third round.

Defending champions Bahrain exited the tournament early after suffering their second defeat, as did Yemen.

The UAE successfully progressed beyond the group stage for the first time since 2019, following another impressive performance similar to its opening match, when it defeated Yemen 4-0. The UAE ended its second consecutive match with a clean sheet and without conceding a single shot on target.

At Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, the UAE’s three goals were scored by Othman Kamara (30), Guilherme Bala (66), and Ali Saleh (88).
