Al-Taj News – Sports media figure Lotfi Al-Zoubi called on Secretary-General of the Jordan Football Association Samar Nassar and Vice President Marwan Juma to submit their resignations over the way the broadcast of the Jordan-Syria match appeared, noting that what happened yesterday was a test for the administration and describing it as a “football scandal.”
Speaking in radio remarks, Al-Zoubi said that what happened during yesterday’s Jordan-Syria match affected the reputation of Jordan as a whole.
He pointed to the need to focus on those who made the decisions to bring in the company, rather than on the technical problems, which he said have specialists responsible for them.
Al-Zoubi stressed that what happened yesterday was a “football scandal,” emphasizing that the statement issued by the Jordan Football Association was unacceptable and did not put an end to what happened.
He called on the Jordan Football Association and Jordan Television to publish all correspondence and contracts related to the match in order to verify their dates.
At the conclusion of his remarks, Al-Zoubi said that if the association is unable to operate properly, it should be shut down.
